About

Hello, I’m Tim.

I've been building websites and software for long enough to remember tables for layout, no such thing as "responsive," and a working database-backed site being genuinely impressive.

The tools have moved on a lot since then. What people actually need help with hasn't, really. Someone's got an idea, or a process that takes way longer than it should, or a spreadsheet that's spiralled into something unmanageable, or a bit of software that's almost right but not quite.

That's the part I still enjoy.

What I do

If you've got a process that's annoying you, or a product you reckon should exist, I'll help turn that into something real without burying it in unnecessary process.

Sometimes that means building from scratch, sometimes it's fixing what's already there, and now and then the useful bit is working out that what you asked for isn't quite what you need.

I'll happily work across the whole job, figuring out what we're actually trying to do, designing it, building it, shipping it, and keeping it running afterwards.

Why me

I care about the problem as much as the code. Over the years that's meant websites, booking systems, CRMs, ecommerce, ticketing platforms, APIs, and a long list of odd little systems that don't fit any agency's standard package.

I like knowing how a business actually runs day to day, what's tedious, what gets copy-pasted around, what's quietly living in a spreadsheet because nobody's had time to build it properly. That's usually where the good projects come from.

No big agency, no big process

There's no team of twenty between you and the person actually writing the code, it's just me.

I'll tell you straight if I think something's a bad idea. I'll push for simple when simple works. And I'll build it properly when it doesn't.

The answer could be a small script, a full website or a whole application. Every so often it's not building anything at all, and if that's the case I'll say so.

So, what have you got?

Something that's been bugging you, an idea you keep meaning to do something about, a system everyone's just learned to put up with, send it over.

It doesn't need to be a proper spec. We'll figure that part out together.

Have an idea?

Drop me an email. A couple of lines is plenty, we can work out the rest together.
